Qatar - Exploring Al Khor Park & Zoo

Giraffe encounter in Al Khor Park & Zoo

It's been almost 2 years now since I moved to Qatar and I'm loving the country more. Qatar is fast developing and preparing for the FIFA in 2022.

Since I moved to Al Ruwais from Doha, I was able to experience a different taste of Qatar. Besides from the rich art and culture, gastronomic offerings, shopping and family adventures in the spacious parks in Doha - Qatar is gifted with fascinating wilderness in the Arabic region.

Feeling the 2021 vibe with my travel buddy - Anastasiia

As we begin 2021 with an adventurous spirit - today we've explored Al Khor Park for an ultimate wildlife experience.

How to get there:

Al Ruwais to Al Khor:

To my friends in Al Ruwais, here's a quick commute guide going to Al Khor Park: Take bus 201 from Al Shammal Depot (Near McDonalds and back side of the Currency Exchange Building in Al Ruwais. The 201 bus (Direction: Al Khor) has 40 stops departing from Al Shamal Depot and ending in Al Khor South. They are available 7 days a week and operates from 4:30 AM and ends at 10:30 PM.

Drop at North Hospital Bus Stop then transfer to bus 102 and drop in Al Khor Town Road Stop 1 or Al Khor South bus stations and take an Uber from there. Uber will cost you QR 20 to QR 25.

Doha to Al Khor:

If you will be coming from Doha, you can take the bus 102x and drop the same in North Hospital bus station then take the bus 102 and drop in Al Khor Town Road Stop 1 or Al Khor South bus stations and take Uber from there. If you're driving: It is 35 minutes drive from Doha towards Al Shamal Road, then take right towards Al Khor service road.

Taking a rest while waiting for the next bus in North Hospital Bus Station

Me and my travel buddy for today Anastasiia started our trip at 12:05 taking bus 201. It's our first time so we ask the driver to drop us to a bus station nearest to Al Khor park. Then he dropped us in North Hospital and we're lucky we're able to ask a passenger who exactly knows how to get there - so it was easy!
