HOLIDAY INN & SUITES MAKATI

It's April, and it's summer in the Philippines. And of course, all we want to do is to go on "SWIMMING"! Since this hotel  just recently opened this April 2013, I make sure to book room early as possible to experience the first Holiday Inn Suites in Makati City. (of course using my employee rate).

My Welcome Letter!!!

Two Double Beds

Since my brother (Jan Patrick) is on his summer vacation, this will be a good bonding moment as we don't usually go out as he is always busy at school and at the same time I am also busy at work. Schedules don't match most of the time as he has hospital duty on weekends

There he is, checking the wifi connection!

I also invited my two college close friends (Jonalyn Calzado and Lovely Chico) who will be soon leaving for job opportunity abroad. Since they were coming from Calamba City, and advised they will be coming around 4pm, Me and my brother checked in first around 2pm.

Hotel lobby and front desk is located at the fourth floor. Our room was located on the 14th floor. The design of the hotel is similar to Intercontinental Makati with wide hallways.

View from the Lobby. On the middle is Ascott Hotel, where i had my OJT during college!

While waiting for my friends, my brother just stayed at the room enjoying the free high speed internet connection while I went out and did some grocery at the nearby SM Super Market.

Around 4:30 PM my friends arrived. I was then so happy seeing them never changing. Jonalyn - still quiet and shy while Lovely still bubbly and noisy!!! Hahaha!

After swimming, we took our dinner at Glorietta 4 Food Court. Then go back to our room immediately. We had some bottle of Tanduay Ice while watching Ms. Universe 2013. Hahaha!!

Must See:

The Filipinas Heritage Library is a one-stop electronic research center on the Philippines. The Library houses over 13,000 contemporary volumes on Philippine history, art, language, religion and the social sciences, and over 2,000 rare titles, rare books on microfiche, maps, and an extensive library of slides and photographs.

Must Do:

Visit the Weekend Markets. On Saturdays from 7am to 2pm, some of the usually busy parking lots of Makati City are transformed into a gourmet haven. The Salcedo and Legazpi weekend markets become a shopping paradise filled with organic food and products like Human Nature, plus non-organic goods too.

What's New:

The newly developed Glorietta shopping mall opened right beside the hotel. Located at the heart of the country’s premiere business district, Ayala Center Makati, the redesigned Glorietta is set to amaze the new generation of mall-goers, offering the same degree of retail experiences in the backdrop of a more eco-savvy, more refreshing and more rewarding urban paradise.

Don't Go Home Without:

Amid its huge and modern shopping malls, Manila is also popular for shopping centers where locals and tourists go to buy cheap and affordable goods. Divisoria, Greenhills and Quiapo are just some of the places where great bargain markets are found. Anything from food to clothes, birthday and wedding necessities, souvenirs to shoes, accessories and bags are available at very affordable prices.

Tips:

Wet season from late May till early November. Dry season starts from late November until April. December to February is a pleasant time to visit the Philippines.
